INSIDE MOUNT

About this type of blind:inside_mount_outside_mount

Also known as ‘reveal’ fitting or ‘recess’ fitting, measuring your window ‘within the window frame’ means your venetian blind will fit snug inside your window and will be flush with the wall around it.

This style of fitting works best with a minimum window depth of at least 60mm. This ensures the snug look will be streamlined and the blind won’t protrude outside the window frame.

To start, you will need:

  • A metal measuring tape – it’s much more reliable than a soft measuring tape (which is often used in dressmaking)
  • A piece of paper and pen for writing down your measurements

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Take your tape measure and measure from the left hand side (LHS) of the window to the right hand side (RHS) of the window.       Do this at both the top and the bottom of the window to allow for variations in sizing. Take the shortest measurement and write this down in mm.
  2. Do the same again, from the top of the window to the bottom of the window on the LHS and then the RHS to allow again for variations.       Take the shortest measurement and write this down in mm.
  3. Double check your measurements and you’re all done!
